We respect your right to privacy and data control. Use this page to request deletion of your personal data from GoBible.

⚠️ Important Information

Before requesting data deletion, please note:

  • This action is permanent: Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered
  • Account termination: Deleting your data will also terminate your GoBible account
  • Loss of content: All your saved notes, highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress will be permanently deleted
  • Processing time: Data deletion requests are typically processed within 30 days

What Data Will Be Deleted?

When you request data deletion, the following information will be permanently removed:

  • Account Information: Email address, username, and profile details
  • Personal Content: Notes, highlights, bookmarks, and custom collections
  • Reading Data: Reading plans progress, statistics, and history
  • App Settings: Preferences, customizations, and saved configurations
  • AI Interactions: Conversation history with the AI Study Assistant
  • Sync Data: All cloud-stored data associated with your account

Data Retention Exceptions

Certain information may be retained for legal or operational purposes:

  • Legal obligations: Data required by law or for legal proceedings
  • Anonymized analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics
  • Security logs: Limited data for fraud prevention and security (automatically deleted after 90 days)

How to Request Data Deletion

Option 1: Email Request

Send an email to our privacy team with your account details.

  1. Send email to: [email protected]
  2. Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  3. Include your registered email address
  4. Include your GoBible username (if applicable)
  5. State: "I request deletion of all my personal data"

Option 2: In-App Request

Request deletion directly from the GoBible app (version 1.5+).

  1. Open GoBible and go to Settings
  2. Select "Privacy & Security"
  3. Tap "Delete My Account"
  4. Follow the confirmation steps
  5. Enter your password to confirm

Verification Process

To protect your data, we verify all deletion requests:

  1. Identity verification: We'll send a confirmation email to your registered address
  2. Confirmation link: Click the link in the email within 48 hours
  3. Final confirmation: Confirm your deletion request one final time
  4. Processing: Your request will be processed within 30 days

Alternative Options

Before deleting all your data, consider these alternatives:

  • Export your data: Download a copy of your notes and highlights before deletion
  • Deactivate account: Temporarily disable your account instead of permanent deletion
  • Privacy settings: Adjust privacy settings to limit data collection
  • Contact support: Discuss your concerns with our support team
